Today's American music is definitely frustrating. Where Top 40 radio plays the same stuff over and over again; sped up and generic. Seriously... Lady Gaga, really?! She make Britney Spears look like... well, let's just say they won't be remastering their music after 30+ years (Thank You Beatles). A band worth mentioning in the midst of this garbage (not the 90's band, they actually were pretty good) is Skillet. In their latest music video Hero they feature Real Heros, which include Fire Fighters, Doctors, and Marines. These are people that need to be recognized, looked up to, and have celebrity status. These are the people that make a real difference every day. I love the line from the song, "A hero is not afraid to give his life..." a great line from a great band that has been around for more than 10 years, plus they Rock!
I think NBC was using that track to kick off the NFL season, too. Great song/band!
ReplyDeleteyeah I saw that... I was like Yeah Skillet! The Flyers also used Rebirthing as their theme song to come out for every home game a couple of years ago.
